  • Box Tree / Boxwood Moth (Cydalima Perspectalis) *Detected in Michigan*
o   Do NOT dispose of in the brown paper yard waste bags, which will be recycled, as the moth can be spread to other areas.  o   To prevent the spread of the infestation, dead boxwoods must be disposed of in large plastic garbage bags or contractor bags and disposed of in the waste/garbage pick-up.o   Important: Please refer to the following links for information on the invasive species infestation:

  • Deer Population - The deer come from Heritage Park every night to make their rounds in nearby areas.
    • On Monday April 28 there was a city council meeting to discuss culling the deer population.
      • As approved,  coordinated efforts with the US Department of Agriculture will begin in 2026.  Please refer to the following link for information: https://www.fhgov.com/government-business/news-information/latest-news/deer-overpopulation-working-to-address-a-regional-issue-in-farmington-hills/
  • Do NOT feed animals.  Putting food out for wild animals, such as birds, deer, squirrels, racoons, etc. is encouraging the wild animal & deer to come around our homes. This can result in a fine by the city.
  • There is an increase in tick population.  More deer equals more ticks around the area.

  • On-line payment option of dues was mentioned.  When we get a new treasury, this will be discussed.

Open Discussion:
  • Blight Signs or properties not being maintained/look abandoned - Contact the City of Farmington Hills.
  • Please pick up after your dog when on a walk.
  • Dogs must be on leashes when going for a walk, per the policy of the City of Farmington Hills.
