Spring Meeting Minutes
March 26, 2013

The spring meeting was held at the Farmington Hills Fire Station at 11 Mile Road and Orchard Lake Rd.
President Kurt Vaaler called the meeting to order at about 7:05pm.

Recording Secretary Report
  • Reading of the previous meeting minutes was waived.  Minutes were approved by attendees.

Welcomed our new residents

  • Jim & Carrie Holliday at 31991 Staman Ct.
  • Rich & Cindy Shelley at 32116 Staman Cr.
  • Sandy Broadbent at 31699 Staman Cr.

Treasurer Report

  • The budget was prepared and read by Kathie Brown, Treasurer, and accepted by the attendees.

Architectural Committee

  • The new signage project at Rocky Crest and Power Rd is underway and should be completed sometime in the spring.

Neighborhood Watch

  • No discussion

New/Old Business

  • Kurt Vaaler gave an update on the road paving initiative; it is important for the contractor to stay in budget.  If drainage pipes need replacing in certain locations it will be done if the budget allows.  It will be up to the contractor to bid to temporarily remove and reinstall mail boxes during construction.  Once a contractor is established the city will hold an open house for discussion with the residents. The city may also discuss a “hardship program” regarding the assessment.
  • There will be further discussion regarding updating the by-laws and possibly enforce a SACA dues lien for non-paying residents.
  • Consumers Energy will be replacing the gas lines throughout the subdivision.
  • We are planning the SACA picnic sometime in late August depending upon the completion and timing of the new road construction.
  • There will be further discussion to ask the city to widen the Rocky Crest at Orchard Lake Road entrance/exit.
  • Further discussion will take place to replace the wood beams at the signage at the same location.
  • All four SACA officers were re-elected for another term of office; Kurt Vaaler, Pres., Lonnie Lewis, Vice Pres., Kathie Brown, Treasurer & Dean Wojtowicz, Recording Sec.

Other notable mentions by attendees

  • SACA by-laws require residents, prior to construction, to have the architectural committee approve outside improvements; i.e. additions, sheds, fences, etc.  Contact John Ludwick at 476-3972.
  • SACA by-laws require residents to keep trash cans and recycling bins in the garage.
  • PLEASE ABIDE BY THESE BY-LAWS.

The meeting adjourned about 8:15pm
