Autumn Meeting Minutes 
October 09, 2012

 
The spring meeting was held at the Farmington Hills Fire Station on Orchard Lake Rd.
President Kurt Vaaler called the meeting to order at about 7:05pm.
 
Recording Secretary Report:
  • Reading of the previous meeting minutes was waived.  Minutes were approved by attendees. 

Other resident information 
New residents 
  • Attending were Larry Bossman on Rocky Crest & Gary Ouellette on Staman Cr., welcome!  Kathie Brown is working on updating the SACA welcome packet.

Treasurer Report (see attached)
  • The budget was prepared and read by Kathie Brown, Treasurer, and accepted by the attendees.

Architectural Committee
  • John Ludwick reported on the new signage at Power Road entrance.  He is waiting on a quote for construction and permit costs.  The sign will be approximately 28” X 50”.  It was approved that the board could go over budget at their discretion if needed.  
  • We are seeking a beautification volunteer.

Neighborhood Watch
  • There was a daytime home invasion reported by a resident on Staman Cr.  The residents were not home at the time. The home was forcibly entered by the thieves.  Jewelry and cash was taken.  
  • We are also seeking a volunteer watch person for the neighborhood.     

New/Old Business
  • Kurt Vaaler gave an update on the road repairing initiative; there are enough signatures to go forward with the plan.  The initiative will be presented to the city council for approval.  The city will notify the residents of the vote.
  • There will be further discussion at the spring meeting regarding updating the by-laws and discussion for updating the landscaping at the Orchard Lake entrance.

Other notable mentions by attendees
  • SACA by-laws require residents, prior to construction, have the architectural committee approve outside improvements; i.e. additions, sheds, fences, etc.  Contact John Ludwick at 476-3972. 
  • SACA by-laws also require residents to keep trash cans and recycling bins in the garage.
  • The meeting adjourned about 8:05pm
