Treasurer Report
- Posted at the meeting was the upcoming budget and the association participation report of 77 paid and 40 unpaid dues. Ms. Kathie Brown, Treasurer, reminded everyone when returning the annual dues bill to fill out the bottom of the notice with any changes the association can update about your residency information. As always you can notify the association via our website listed below with your questions/concerns/comments etc.
Association Committees and Follow up Business
- There has been discussion of erecting a flag pole at the Orchard Lake and Rocky Crest entrance to the subdivision to display the American flag, more to follow regarding bids etc.
- A Directory Committee is pending more volunteers needed to update information from residents. Please advise any of the officers to actively participate or attend our next meeting to further discuss this topic.
- 3 people volunteered for the Beautification Committee. Typically the BC will maintain the entrance signs to the sub. Names of volunteers, projects and updates will be provided with the next minutes.
- By-Laws to be reviewed and updated were discussed and a local attorney quoted a fee somewhere in the $3000-$4000 range to assist in rewriting the existing laws. Mr. Lonnie Lewis, Vice-President, will provide more information at the next meeting. Along with this subject we are investigating the probability of assessing property liens for unpaid association dues. It was mentioned a 60% association member approval must be met to finalize changes in the by-laws. The by-laws have not been updated since the SACA was formed.
New business
- A target date(s) for a first time SACA wide rummage/garage sale is tentative as we are looking at the Friday and Saturday of September 9th & 10th to advertise the event. This is a good opportunity to reach out to the officers for your input and participation response.
- The annual SACA picnic will be held on Saturday August 27th. Please bring a side dish or dessert to pass around. Hamburgers, hot dogs and beverages will be provided.
- DTE intends to update power lines and poles in the area however no set date has been provided. Site engineers began identifying poles to be replaced earlier this year.
- A motion passed to add $1000 to the budget to enhance the Orchard Lake Road entrance signage with foliage and/or materials as needed.
- A motion passed that all officers were re-elected Kurt Vaaler, President; Lonnie Lewis, Vice-President; Kathie Brown, Treasurer; Dean Wojtowicz, Recording Secretary.
