Autumn Meeting Minutes
21SEP2022

Held at the City of Farmington Hill City Hall council chambers called to order by Kurt Vaaler at about
7:10 PM EDT.

Secretary Report
  • The previous meeting minutes were read by attendees, there were no corrections, and the minutes were approved.

New Residents
  • New residents; there are 5 new residents reported
  • Condolences; none to report

Treasures Report
  • The balance sheet and proposed budget were presented and will be posted on the website along with the minutes.
  • Dues updates to come soon along with an updated directory.

New Business
  • In search for a new Vice President as Jennifer resigned as of today.
  • City of Farmington Hills has considered the use and proliferation of the cannabis (commercial) industry, Kurt V suggested residents be aware of how it can be included in our sub, a meeting s scheduled in the city hall on 03OCT 6-8pm and 04OCT 9-11am.

Old Business
  • Discussion about by-laws, as we continue to amend, a copy of the proposed draft was available at the meeting.
  • Please contact the board for copies and to make comments.
  • Discussed were the following; regarding SACA as an entity, attorney opinion is we operate as a non-profit.
  • Intent of  the change is to go forward with changes, we are in need of a volunteer to go door to door to solicit changes for the SACA, will mail proposed changes to residents, there is a sign-up sheet for volunteers to help.
  • Landscape at RC & OL; no new information was collected by anyone since last meeting, little discussion about further direction and more information is to be gathered.
  • Regarding thru traffic on RC, Maria G. has the city looking at “car counters” to see about thru traffic enforcement. Update; cars to be counted on with other info, Maria is working with the citymon 11Oct 730-900 330-530 pm need 3 volunteers for each shift you can call Maria at 313.550.0594 to offer assistance, there is discussion for “other” methods to deter cut-thru driving.
  • Phone book/directory needs door to door help to update information, please volunteer, contact Kathie Brown at 248.755.1216.
  • Reminder; dues have increased to $100 annuallyPlease keep the area around the neighborhood neat.
  • Please contact the SACA regarding your questions and comments and use the website below for forward emails or call any of the officers and they will be able to direct you or help answer questions you may have in the future.

Other/New
  • There were approximately 10 persons attending representing 5 households (sign in sheet was unavailable at this writing) including 3 officers in attendance Kurt V. closed the meeting at about 850pm.
